We're Not Down

About

Rhode Island, 1981.

Ted Hollis is forty-two years old, and the brewery where he spent his entire adult life just closed its doors for good.

He's got a son he raised alone who's heading to college in a month, a rat terrier who won't stop barking, and a refrigerator with one egg in the carton. He's also got a letter from the financial aid office sitting on the counter that he can't quite bring himself to open—and somewhere in the back of his mind, all the roads he didn't take.

Then an old friend returns from Los Angeles, reminding Ted that some choices never completely stay in the past.

We're Not Down is a novel about a man, the life he built for his son, and a moment when everything he's been holding onto starts to loosen its grip.
